Car Alarm suddenly stoped working, why?

I have a “Crime Stopper” alarm / keyless entry system on my car, it is about 2 years old and up until yesturday was working great. I droped my car off to have it smoged and the alarm chirped as it always did when i locked the doors… when i picked it up, the keyless entry still worked but the Alarm was completely dead! I went and confronted the tech who did my smog check but he said they NEVER mess with alarms or anything like that.

Again, the Keyless part of the system is working fine, but the Alarm (meaning: Flashing headlights, siren, chirp,) have all seem to just stop working.

Does anyone have any thoughts… I check the fuses but i would assume sence its all part of the same unit, that if the alarm went out then the keyless should have gone out also.

I dont know, but i really dont want to drop another $150-200 on a new security system!

It sounds like the system is in Valet Mode. There should be a solid red LED on the dashboard.

To Enable or Disable the Valet Mode:

1) Turn ignition on.

2) Press and hold Valet button (red pushbutton in vehicle) approximately 4 to 6 seconds or until the alarm chirps.

3) The Red LED turns off in normal mode
